Welcome To Lake's Edge Boat House!

Lake’s Edge Boat House is owned and operated by The Woodlands Township Recreation Division. Following the development of Hughes Landing off of Lake Woodlands Dr., the Lake’s Edge Boat House was constructed and opened to the public in 2016. Designed to be a compact, kiosk-style satellite location to the Riva Row Boat House, Lake’s Edge Boat House is perched directly on Lake Woodlands for easy paddling to any location on the body of water.

Tandem Kayaks

Our most popular option! We have a limited supply of sit-on-top tandem kayaks for two people, or two adults and one small child (under 42 inches in height).

Single Kayaks

1 Seat | Can ride with 1 small child

Get away from it all! We have a limited number of sit-on-top single kayaks for one person, or one adult and a small child (under 42 inches in height).

Stand-Up Paddleboards

1 Seat | 220lb Maximum

Explore Lake Woodlands atop one of our fun stand-up paddle board rentals (SUP for short). We have regular 10.5-foot SUPs.

Water Bikes

1 Seat

The Hydrobike Explorer is all the fun of biking, but on the water! Single riders only. Very stable. Pace yourself! Speeds from 0-8 MPH. Less experienced riders may have trouble on the lake in high winds.

Friendly service and you’re starting close to the fountains which are a great way to cool off in your kayak on a hot day. I would recommend this place if you want to enjoy an hour or two on the lake. From this location you have enough time to get to the Water Dragon and back if you have the arm strength.

"Fun under the sun."

Did the reservation online. Didn't have to wait to get my hydro bike. One recommendation is that it is tiring. I decided to do 2 hrs just in case. It was only a little bit more $, but at the end I lasted 45 minutes. It was a work out. Highly recommend. It is fun under the sun.

"Something fun to do..."

If you're looking for something fun to do that's off the beaten path, this is the place! Super easy to suit up, grab a kayak and head out on the water. Staff has always been very friendly and assists you with anything you need, especially when you're new to kayaking (recommend going paired first time out). If you're looking to save time, call ahead and reserve, this has helped me in the past so I don't end up being put on a wait list. Also, fill out their waiver online.
